چکیده

Article history: Received March 18, 2015 Accepted April 16 2015 Available online May 14 2015 In this paper, a deterministic inventory model with depletion rate dependent holding cost is developed. The demand rate is a power function of the on-hand inventory behind to a certain stock level, at which the demand rate becomes a constant. Shortages are allowed and partially backlogged with the function of waiting time of next replenishment. It is also proved in this model that the optimal replenishment policy not only exists but also is unique. Furthermore, it is provided a simple solution procedure for finding the maximum total profit per unit time. Numerical examples have also been given to illustrate the model and real managerial fact in inventory holding for stock dependent demand. Growing Science Ltd. All rights reserved. 5 © 201

Inventory model with stock-level dependent demand rate and variable holding cost

Inventory models in which the demand rate depends on the inventory level are based on the common real-life observation that greater product availability tends to stimulate more sales. Previous models incorporating inventory-level dependent demand rate assume that the holding cost is constant for the entire inventory cycle. This paper considers the inventory policy for an item with a stock-level...

Optimal ordering quantities for substitutable deteriorating items under joint replenishment with cost of substitution

In this paper we develop an inventory model, to determine the optimal ordering quantities, for a set of two substitutable deteriorating items. In this inventory model the inventory level of both items depleted due to demands and deterioration and when an item is out of stock, its demands are partially fulfilled by the other item and all unsatisfied demand is lost. Each substituted item incurs a...

Economic order quantity model for growing items with incremental quantity discounts

Certain inventory items are living organisms, for example livestock, and are therefore capable of growing during the replenishment cycle. These items often serve as various saleable food items downstream in supply chains. The purpose of this paper is to develop a lot sizing model for growing items if the supplier of the items offers incremental quantity discounts. A mathematical model is derive...

Two-level supply chain for a deteriorating item with stock and promotional cost dependent demand under shortages

In this research work, a wholesaler-retailer-customer supply chain model for a deteriorating item is considered, where the retailer's warehouse in the market place has a limited capacity. The retailer can rent an additional warehouse (rented warehouse) if needed, with a higher rent compared to the existing warehouse (own warehouse). The customers' demand of the item is linearly influenced by th...

An economic lot-size model with non-linear holding cost hinging on time and quantity

This paper develops an economic lot size inventory model where the demand rate depends on the stock level and the cumulative holding cost is non-linear on both the quantity and the time they are stored. More concretely, it is supposed that the demand rate is a concave potential function of the inventory level and the holding cost is potential on both time and quantity. Moreover, shortages are n...
